NUTTER fort, W.Va. (WDTV) -- The board of administrators of the WV Blackberry festival has determined to cancel the 2020 competition because of the risks offered by the COVID-19 pandemic in response to Sam Maxson, president of the WV Blackberry pageant.
"Our health officials' guidelines demand continued social distancing when feasible and, as a result of the nature of the WV Blackberry competition's huge crowds, this may be unimaginable," says Maxson.
The WV Blackberry festival became based in 1997.
