Double Bread Bowls Have Finally Arrived at Panera

Here’s a soup-er way to show your friends and loved ones how much you care—share a Double Bread Bowl at Panera!

It might sound like a dream but it’s definitely real. Yep, after testing the Double Bread Bowl in Philadelphia last year, Panera has finally released its masterpiece at all locations. Here’s what you need to know before You Pick Two.

What Is a Double Bread Bowl?

For those of you who haven’t heard, a Double Bread Bowl is exactly what it sounds like. Essentially, it’s a huge, freshly-baked sourdough loaf with two bowl-shaped holes carved into the top. You can choose not one, but two tempting soups to go in the bowls.

For anyone who doesn’t mind sharing, you can enjoy a meal with your partner in the shape of one bread loaf. On the other hand, you might want to keep this secret to yourself and just have twice as much soup. Up to you!

You Can Make 91 Soup Combinations

You might have trouble deciding what soups to go for. In participating Panera cafes, there will be a whopping 91 different combinations to choose from. You can get totally creative and pick two wild flavors to see how they work together. (Creamy Tomato and Bistro French Onion—why not?)

Should you order online or via the Panera app, you will be able to choose from five pre-selected soup combos:

• Chicken Noodle and Broccoli Cheddar
• Creamy Tomato and Broccoli Cheddar
• Broccoli Cheddar and Broccoli Cheddar
• Bistro French Onion and Broccoli Cheddar
• Ten Vegetable and Creamy Tomato

“Since the test launch, we’ve seen an overwhelming response on social media from fans asking, ‘When will Double Bread Bowls come to my city?’ We’re excited to answer that demand and spread the bread to guests nationwide,” said Tom Sadler, the Panera Vice President of Food & Beverage Product Development.

The Double Bread Bowls are already legendary, and we’re pretty excited to share an unforgettable meal with a friend.

The Double Bread Bowls Won’t Be Here Forever

Sadly, the Double Bread Bowls will only be here until February 28. They start at $9.99 and are available in selected cafes, on the Panera website and even for delivery. (You can check whether your local Panera offers a delivery service here.)
